Ukraine victory plan to list vital weapons, seek OK to attack Russia Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's plan for victory in the war will include a detailed list of military resources vital for defeating Russia, along with a request for permission to attack Russian territory using long-range missiles, a top government official said Wednesday. U.S. credit card spending triples in Japan as tourists hit golf courses - Nikkei Asia TOKYO -- U.S. tourists visiting Japan are spending three times as much on credit cards as they were before the coronavirus pandemic, data shows, with more than half going toward experiences like golf and theme parks.With more Americans visiting Japan, U.S. credit card spending in the January-June period was about triple the first half of 2019. The merchant transaction data, provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Card's Custella analytics service, covers payments using Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay cards issued overseas.

Japan aims to expand auto exports to UAE via trade pact - Nikkei Asia TOKYO -- Japan and the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday agreed to start negotiations on an economic partnership agreement, as Tokyo hopes to boost its automobile and machinery exports while promoting investment in energy. Japan's exports to the UAE totaled 1.57 trillion yen ($11.1 billion at current rates) in 2022. The Middle Eastern country levies a 5% tariff on many items, including autos, and these account for about 60% of the total. Japan hopes to negotiate a reduction or elimination of these duties in the partnership agreement.
