| 08.03.2025 16:52 South Korean President Yoon freed after 52 days in detention South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol was released Saturday after spending 52 days in detention over his brief imposition of martial law last December, a day after a court ruled his confinement illegal.
Yoon waved to his supporters as he walked out of the Seoul Detention Center, where he had been held on charges of inciting an insurrection by declaring martial law on the night of Dec. 3, which remained in effect for only six hours.
