Kim says North Korea to "unconditionally support" Russia in Ukraine war North Korean leader Kim Jong Un told a top Russian security official Wednesday that Pyongyang will "unconditionally support" Moscow's foreign policy, including its war in Ukraine, and further solidify the bilateral partnership, according to state-run media. During the meeting in Pyongyang, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu expressed gratitude for North Korean soldiers' "matchless heroism and self-sacrificing spirit" in operations to liberate the Kursk region, the official Korean Central News Agency said. Nintendo releases Switch 2 console to strong demand Nintendo Co. on Thursday released the Switch 2, its first new gaming console in more than eight years, with robust preorder demand creating optimism the device will boost the company's fortunes. The Kyoto-based gaming giant expects to sell 15 million units of the device globally in the current business year through March. Nintendo said in April it attracted larger-than-expected preorder interest, with some 2.2 million people in Japan applying for a lottery in hopes of securing one at release. Read full story here

Japan sees record number of stalking investigations in 2024 Japanese police investigated more than 1,300 cases of stalking in 2024, the highest since a law criminalizing the act was enacted in 2000, according to police data released Thursday. The figure is 260 cases higher than the previous year and comes as the National Police Agency has instructed forces working out of prefectural headquarters to liaise more closely with local stations to better respond to such complaints.
