NBC News tracks errors at fertility clinics nationwide More than 250,000 women in the U.S. go through fertility treatments like IVF each year. But the federal government only tracks clinics pregnancy success rates, not their mishaps. An NBC News analysis found that in the last five years, more than 300 lawsuits have been filed over alleged product failures and human error at fertility clinics or related companies. NBC News Ellison Barber spoke with a couple that says their clinic mistakenly discarded their embryos.
