Uber launches ride-hailing trial in Tokyo using car-share vehicles The Japanese unit of Uber Technologies Inc. said Wednesday it has launched trial ride-hailing services in Tokyo utilizing vehicles used for car-sharing, with plans to consider expanding the service area. Paralympics: Japan beat boccia giant South Korea in mixed team prelims Japan on Tuesday defeated powerhouse South Korea on the first day of mixed gender boccia events at the Paris Paralympics to advance to the BC1\BC2 quarterfinals. The team got off to a three-point lead in the three-a-side wheelchair event before the South Koreans briefly recovered to tie the match, only for Japan to score two more times to win 5-3 at South Paris Arena. Ukraine reports major increase in Russian air attacks Ukrainian officials confirmed Tuesday that Russian airstrikes destroyed a military academy in the eastern town of Poltava, killing more than 50 people.
