Japan PM aims to meet Trump in U.S. over tariffs when appropriate Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said Thursday that bilateral tariff negotiations with Washington will not be easy, but he intends to visit the United States for direct talks with President Donald Trump "at the most appropriate time." Japan PM to forgo visit to war-linked Yasukuni shrine for spring rite Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has decided not to visit the war-linked Yasukuni shrine, a site that has long been a source of diplomatic friction with Japan's neighbors, during its spring festival next week, sources familiar with the plan said Thursday. ANA, Singapore Airlines eye joint fares for Japan-Singapore flights All Nippon Airways Co. and Singapore Airlines Ltd. will launch joint fare products for flights between Japan and Singapore starting in September as they deepen their commercial partnership, the two carriers said Thursday.
