China raises retirement age as workforce shrinks - Nikkei Asia SHANGHAI -- China will raise its retirement age, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress decided on Friday, as the country attempts to address its shrinking workforce.The retirement age will be gradually increased over the next 15 years. For men, it will rise to age 63, from 60. Female blue-collar workers will work until 55, instead of 50. And the working years of female white-collar employees will be extended to 58, from 55.
