Japan police to use fake IDs, go undercover to fight "dark job" crime The Japanese government said Tuesday it plans to introduce fake IDs for police to conduct undercover investigations as part of emergency measures to tackle "dark part-time work." Under the countermeasures due to be introduced early next year, police will also request social media operators including X, previously known as Twitter, to toughen identity verification when accounts are opened and delete posts suspected of soliciting jobs commonly referred to in Japanese as "yami baito."
