Digital wage payments start in Japan via PayPay in cashless drive Digital wage payments have started in Japan after the operator of popular QR-code based payment app PayPay became the first to clear the government's screening under a cashless drive. Ten SoftBank Group Corp. firms, including PayPay Corp., said they have started paying wages from September through PayPay to employees with their consent.
