| 24.09.2024 15:48Nagasaki appeals ruling over A-bomb survivor eligibility The prefectural and city governments of Nagasaki on Tuesday appealed a court ruling in favor of some of the plaintiffs seeking state health care benefits as survivors of the 1945 U.S. atomic bombing even though they experienced the blast outside the state-designated area.
The central government has so far provided those who experienced the bombing outside the designated area but within a 12-kilometer radius of the hypocenter with limited support compared with certified survivors.
