Trump unleashes 25% tariffs on all steel, aluminum imports President Donald Trump on Monday unleashed 25 percent tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports, a move that could heighten tensions with U.S. trading partners and set off a renewed bout of inflation at home. It was Trump's first order for the imposition of sector-based tariffs since he returned to the White House on Jan. 20 for a nonconsecutive second term. He said there were no exceptions and the tariffs, due to go into effect on March 4, will be applied to all steel and aluminum imports no matter where they come from. Read full story here

Japan hopes to lure tourists to national parks with "goshuin" stamps The Japanese government recently launched an initiative it hopes will encourage foreign tourists to venture off the beaten path to the country's national parks by offering collectible stamps resembling "goshuin" which are traditionally obtained by visitors to temples and shrines. With the stamps available at all 35 of Japan's national parks, as well as from the Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden in Tokyo, the Environment Ministry hopes visitors will find a path less trodden by creating interest in the nation's stamp-collecting tradition.
