Japan Cabinet to OK 39 tril. yen economic package to ease price pain Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba's Cabinet is set to approve a 39 trillion yen ($252 billion) economic package to support consumer spending as disposable incomes continue to be whittled away by resurgent prices, sources familiar with the matter said Thursday. Basketball: Yuki Kawamura records 1st double-double in G-League Japanese Olympic men's basketball star Yuki Kawamura scored 15 points and dished 16 assists for his first double-double in the developmental G-League as he marshaled the Memphis Hustle to a 123-118 win over the visiting Osceola Magic on Wednesday. The point guard shot 3-from-8 from three-point range while providing several sharp passes into and around the paint during 31 minutes on the court. Sumo: Former yokozuna, popular TV pundit Kitanofuji dies at 82 Former yokozuna and 10-time Emperor's Cup winner Kitanofuji, who also mentored two grand champions, including the legendary Chiyonofuji, before becoming a popular TV sumo pundit, died on Nov. 12, Japan Sumo Association officials said Thursday.
