UK Economy: Unemployment Dips, Wage Growth Slows UK unemployment fell in the three months to June, the Office for National Statistics said Tuesday. Separate data showed regular wage growth cooled - the weakest year-on-year pay increase since the summer of 2022. Speaking on Bloomberg Television, Jefferies economist Modupe Adegbembo says wage growth is still too high for the Bank of England to cut interest rates in September.
