N. Korea-Russia alliance could impact Indo-Pacific security: Sweden Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson has condemned North Korea for supplying weapons and troops to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine, saying growing military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow could also affect security in the Indo-Pacific. A possible transfer of advanced military technology from Russia to North Korea in return for aid in Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine would pose a direct threat to Japan, South Korea, the United States and other nations in the region, Jonson said during a recent visit to Tokyo. Figure skating: Miura, Kihara finish 2nd in pairs at Grand Prix Final Japan's Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara were second in the pairs at figure skating's Grand Prix Final on Friday, missing out on the title they won two years ago. Miura and Kihara, second after Thursday's short program, settled for third in the free skate with 130.44 points to tally 206.71 in total. Germany's Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin topped both segments to win for the second straight year, scoring 218.10 in total in Grenoble, France. Read full story here

Football: Okayama beat Sendai to reach J1 for 1st time Fagiano Okayama earned their maiden berth in the J-League top flight Saturday by defeating Vegalta Sendai 2-0 in the final of the four-team promotion playoffs. Goals from Rui Sueyoshi and Haruka Motoyama clinched the win at City Light Stadium where hosts Okayama, who finished fifth in the J2 this season, needed only a draw to secure promotion ahead of sixth-placed Sendai.
