Baseball: Hall of Fame awaits frequent visitor Ichiro Suzuki For years, Ichiro Suzuki has been making the trek to the U.S. National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, where he might soon be enshrined as the first Hall of Famer from Japan. Amazon Japan suspected of forcing retailers to cut product prices Japan's antitrust watchdog conducted an on-site investigation of the Japanese unit of Amazon.com Inc. on Tuesday for allegedly forcing retailers to cut prices of products sold on its online shopping website, sources close to the matter said. Amazon Japan G.K. is alleged to have violated the antimonopoly law by forcing retailers to reduce prices in return for displaying their products in the most visible positions for users of its platform, with the involvement of its U.S. headquarters also suspected. Mental, family records among info items for Japan security clearance The Japanese government said Tuesday that it is considering requiring not only employment and travel history but also mental health records and the nationality of family members determining access to critical information under a "security clearance" system. When seeking access to information designated by the government as classified, individuals -- whether from the private or public sector -- may also need to report their drinking habits, according to a draft proposal. Japan rocket engine explodes during test, 2nd time in 16 months An engine being developed for use in the Epsilon S small rocket exploded Tuesday during a combustion test at a facility in southwestern Japan, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency said, the second such incident in 16 months. The explosion occurred 49 seconds after ignition at 8:30 a.m. at the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture. There were no injuries or damage to buildings outside the center.
