Japanese hospital conducts kidney transplant between same-sex couple A Japanese hospital said Monday it has performed a living kidney transplant between a same-sex couple, a procedure typically limited to patients with a family member donor. While there have been previous cases of living kidney transplants being conducted between same-sex couples, it is believed to be the first time such a procedure has been publicly disclosed in Japan, according to Kyoto University Hospital. JAL begins hiring flight attendants in the Philippines - Nikkei Asia MANILA -- Japan Airlines has begun recruiting dozens of flight attendants in the Philippines with the help of a local staffing agency, rebooting a program that was postponed during the coronavirus pandemic as it responds to growing demand for travel to Japan.Through JAL's partnership with TDG Human Resource Management, a group of new flight attendants hired in the country is scheduled to join the company in January 2025. It will continue to recruit in the Philippines, where English is widely spoken, every year.
