Ex-LDP faction accountant guilty of underreporting political funds A former accountant of a faction in Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for five years, on Tuesday for underreporting income from fundraising parties. The Tokyo District Court handed down the sentence to Hitoshi Nagai, 70, who was in charge of accounting for the intraparty group previously led by former LDP Secretary General Toshihiro Nikai.
